Kingfisher Leisure Centre
The Kingfisher Leisure Centre required an expansion to its past services by building a 2 story extension to the side of the building. The previous gym was inadequate for the current population of the town and the training machines were in need of an upgrade.
Space utilization of the original building was poor; the extension provided new rooms for the community to use as a dance studio as well as a multi-purpose room. The changing rooms were completely overhauled and re-designed to ensure disabled facilities and better use of changing room experience.
Overview of The Project
Yeames was awarded with this project directly due to a 10 year working relationship with the client and we played a critical role to the decision making processes on all aspects of the installation.
To ensure all of the client's needs were being met, we attended pre-site installation meetings and project managed the installation.
Although we came across a few obstacles, as to be expected when working within a part-refurb/part-new project, we were able to overcome these by communicating directly with the stakeholders to ensure the system design was not compromised.
